It’s Quiet Uptown
Project Summary
When it comes to national parks, the big, fancy, natural ones get all the glory. Places like Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and Rocky Mountain are usually the headliners of the National Park System. But like any serious music lover knows, discovering phenomenal indie artists can be just as great as (if not better than) pop sensations.
Enter stage left: Hamilton Grange National Memorial.
If you're a fan of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s "Hamilton: An American Musical," this national park will be a familiar one. “It’s Quiet Uptown” is set in the Harlem home of our first Secretary of the Treasury, which is protected as part of the National Park System — but many park aficionados don’t realize this too is a national park.
To spotlight lesser-known acts like this one, we invited actor/recording artist and recent star of "Hamilton: An American Musical" Jordan Fisher to host a behind-the-scenes tour of the home. The Facebook Live won over critics and national park purists (i.e., those who see anything without “national park” in its proper name as less than) alike.
