A Monumental Announcement

Lincoln.JPG

On a February morning in 2016, the National Park Foundation shared a monumental announcement on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. We stood under the stone gaze of our nation’s 16th president and falling snow to make a public declaration that we would raise $350 million through our Centennial Campaign for America’s National Parks – the largest comprehensive fundraising campaign in the history of the National Park System.

It was the perfect setting for the day’s events, as businessman and philanthropist David M. Rubenstein announced his $18.5 million gift through the campaign would restore and repair the Lincoln Memorial, providing great access to one of America’s most iconic national park sites.

In addition to creating and executing the digital strategy for the event (including coordinating the announcement with the social media leads for the White House, Department of the Interior, and National Park Service) I supported our media relations efforts onsite.
